Remembering John Randal Satterwhite

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Randal Satterwhite, a dedicated member of the NDA Board of Directors and the esteemed chair of our Safety Committee. John passed away on April 3, 2025, at the age of 49.
John was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle, cherished for his wonderful sense of humor and compassionate, generous spirit. He lived his life with a profound commitment to his family, friends and community, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In 2021, John was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Demolition Association and was subsequently selected to serve as chair of the Safety Committee that same year. His passion for safety and his collaborative approach quickly made him an invaluable leader. John also served on the Leadership Development Committee, whose purpose was to nominate and select the next generation of leaders for the association.
John was a tireless advocate for safety and industry, a quality evident in his kindness and genuine care for everyone he encountered. His leadership and dedicated work on the Safety Committee impacted the entire industry and association. As a true champion of safety, John’s positive attitude and collaborative leadership were instrumental in launching the “Starting Out Right” video series, expanding and revising Safety Talks, devoting significant time with staff and volunteers leading safety at the Live DEMOlition Event® each year, and advancing the crucial work of the committee and the industry through his interviews, teaching and mentoring.
John was a phenomenal human being, an exceptional leader, a valued board member, a dedicated committee chair, a cherished friend and a guiding mentor to many within our industry. His contributions and his spirit will be deeply missed.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Satterwhite; his children, Morgan and Ryan Satterwhite; his father, Randal Satterwhite; and his sister, Nicole Corson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Satterwhite.
A celebration of John's life will be held at Stonegate Church, 4025 US-287, Midlothian, Texas, 76065, on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 3 p.m. CDT.
